YET ANOTHER PSL AU POST BECAUSE WE ARE MONSTERS.

Kinda the premise.

You know you can't really keep calling me that. I'm about to not be your boss anymore.

I mean, I'm going to put it out there that you're definitely not my boss now.

...Think I prefer us being friends to you being my subordinate.

Yeah? You got it. I'm also entirely down with that.

Good. [He clasps a firm hand to Tim's shoulder. That feels better. Feels more right.]

Also, I um.

[He does... grab a small, flat gift to hand to him.]

I hope it's all right.

For me?

.... All of you. All of you are menaces.

[He takes the package with... a bit of wonder?]

Of course for you.

[It's a thin box. And inside that? A simple, kind looking picture frame and a properly restored photo of Tim and Danny, before... All of it.]

[His hands shake a little as they wrap around the frame. He spends a few moments just... looking at it, trying not to be choked up.

And absolutely failing.]

... God, he always did look dumb from the left.

... In his defense, you look a little dumb from the left too.

[That surprises a real, full laugh out of him through the tears.]

The right too, so I've been told.

[He nudges shoulders with him, smiling a bit.]

Maybe you should get it looked at.

[A grin.]

I'm trying not to strain the NHS here.

[A deep breath.]

... Of course, Tim. You're welcome.

[This close, it's easy to wrap an arm around Tim's shoulders for a light squeeze.]

[He leans into it with a smile.]

You're all terrorists, you know?

And you apparently love us, so.

[A nudge and a downright dorky smile.]

Against all better judgement.

[Jon does shift a bit with the nudge. He's still tiny, Tim.]

And every warning sign.

[Now it cracks into a grin. His hands are still reverent though, setting the frame up on the end table next to where they sit.]

What's a warning sign? Can you eat it?

Wouldn't know. Tend to avoid them myself it seems.

I've heard they're bad for you. Gave it up cleanly for Lent.

And then never picked it back up? That's fair.

Best way to do it, honestly.
